Local business Provincial Plants and
Landscapes based in Wandella NSW and Pialligo ACT won the prestigious 2010
Nursery and Garden Industry’s National Environment Award. Presented at the NGIA conference held in
Darwin this week, the ‘NGI Environment Award’ is a highly competitive award
that is open to all industry businesses Australia wide and acknowledges initiative to an
environmental management or community participation in relation to
environmental issues.
Lisa Roberts, Provincial’s Owner said “We strongly believe in making changes in
our own backyard and our entire eco - ethos is based on this principle. National
recognition of our dedication to environmental business practices is an amazing
achievement for our team.”
Since 2001 Provincial has established a well
deserved reputation for providing expert advice and an unequalled product and
service range that can take your landscape or revegetation project from concept
to completion, all under the one roof – all with a minimal carbon footprint. The team at Provincial are dedicated to
helping people substitute their drought ravaged lawns and gardens for
environmentally sustainable, chemical free, drought and frost hardy yet beautiful
plants in innovative and creative designs.
“The
team at Provincial has an intrinsic attitude towards the environment and a
holistic focus when interacting with their environment. The systems and processes they have
implemented complement their fundamental approach to air, soil, water,
biodiversity, and habitat. They continue
their environmental journey daily and their achievements are a credit to hard
work and commitment to their eco-ethos.” – NGIA judge’s comments
