Prostanthera rotundifolia

round-leaved mint bush

A rounded shrub growing to 2m and 1.5m in width. Small, rounded dull green leaves are aromatic and grow to 1cm. The flowers are purple, lilac or occasionally white or pink, occurring in large clusters.

cultural notes	A fast growing shrub that prefers moist, well drained soils in a partly shaded position.
maintenance	Should be pruned after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth.
tolerates	Frost tolerant, moderately drought tolerant.
flowering season	Spring.
flower colour	Commonly purple or lilac, occassionally white or pink. Flowers occur in clusters from the leaf axils.
foliage colour	Leaves are dull green, rounded and sometimes toothed. The leaves are highly aromatic when crushed.
width	up to 1.5m
height	up to 2m
plant spacing	50cm apart
recommended uses	An attractive shrub, particularly when in flower. Good along paths where aroma is released when brushed against.
