blakely's red gum

A medium to large tree growing to 25m in height. Smooth, grey bark mottled with patches of white, grey-blue, pinkish-brown and creamy yellow. Adult foliage is pointed, lance shaped and up to 16cm long.


origin	NSW, ACT, Qld, Vic.
cultural notes	Prefers a sunny position in well drained soils.
tolerates	Tolerant of frost, drought and salt.
flowering season	Spring and Summer.
flower colour	White or pink flowers occuring in the leaf axils.
foliage colour	The mature foliage is a dull grey-green in colour, curved lanceolate growing to 16cm in length. Juvenile foliage is similar in colour but shorter and broader in shape.
width	up to 5m
height	up to 25m
plant spacing	200cm apart
recommended uses	Shade tree, bee attractant.
