Depending on its habitat, this species can vary in form from a dense shrub 1.8m tall and spreading 4m, to a tree growing to 12m in height. Cream-yellow flower spikes to 9cm long appear in spring summer and autumn.


origin	NSW, ACT, Vic, Tas, SA.
cultural notes	A hardy plant that requires well drained soils. Prefers full sun but will tolerate some shade. Some forms will regenerate from a lignotuber after fire, others rely on seed.
maintenance	Can be lightly pruned to maintain shape.
tolerates	Frost, drought and salt tolerant.
flowering season	Spring Summer and Autumn.
flower colour	Cream-yellow flower spikes up to 9cm long.
foliage colour	Upper surface dark green with silvery white undersides. Leaf margins and tips often have small serrations.

recommended uses	Useful garden plant particularly in coastal situations. Good as an informal hedge, screen or windbreak.
