bristly wallaby grass

Slender, tufted perennial grass with stems growing to 60cm in height. Silvery lance-shaped flowerheads with a prominent central bristle.


origin	NSW, Vic, Tas, SA, WA.
cultural notes	Adaptable to a range of soil types. Grow in full sun or part shade.
maintenance	Can be cut back to encourage new growth.
tolerates	Drought and frost tolerant.
flowering season	Spring and Summer.
flower colour	Green to purple flowerheads, fine hairs give a silvery appearance. Drying to straw coloured.
foliage colour	Tufting green, grass-like foliage. Inrolled leaves to 20cm in length.
width	up to 0.3m
height	up to 0.6m
plant spacing	20cm apart
recommended uses	Use single plants as an accent or group together as a feature planting. Commonly used in rockeries.
